Associate Clinical Social Worker (#102469)

She/Her/Hers

I believe that we all have the capacity to heal. Circumstances, isolation, dis-ease, trauma, stress, and life challenges can all blur this from view. Through an integrative lens that recognizes the intrinsic connection between the mind, body, and soul, I can assist you in uncovering and working through patterns, thoughts, relationships, and experiences that are no longer working for you.

It is my honor to hold space for healing and self-discovery to unfold at a pace that is right for you. My style is warm, compassionate, attuned, and a little irreverent at times! As a queer Arab woman, I understand that therapy is a radical act. The personal, social, cultural, and political forces that contribute to and constrain your well-being are all of concern in the therapy room. My approach to therapy weaves together my training in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapy, Relational Gestalt Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and my experience as a yoga teacher.

While I enjoy working with a diverse array of clients, folks who identify as LGBTQIA+, first-generation and third-culture kids, high-achievers, and highly sensitive people (HSP) are especially drawn to my work. Additionally, I’m especially eager to support trauma survivors, and those living with chronic illnesses, chronic pain, and autoimmune disorders.

Originally from the East Coast, I earned my master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Before joining HPHP, I worked in schools and community mental health centers. I have collaborated with clients from many diverse backgrounds navigating depression, anxiety, self-harm, substance use, homelessness, incarceration, and poverty. Currently, I am working towards licensure under the supervision of Sarah Callender, LCSW, and Jenny Walters, LMFT.

As someone who has sat on the therapy couch myself, I understand the vulnerability and courage it can take to reach out. Schedule a free phone consultation if you'd like to connect and determine if we are the right fit for your needs.
