Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (#18657)
He/They
I believe healing happens when we begin to get curious about how we have been working to protect ourselves, and invite parts of us that may be suffering to be seen, cared for, understood, and integrated. My approach is grounded in creating a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where parts of yourself and your experiences that may have been hidden are invited to safely be explored. I see therapy as a collaboration between us, rooted in curiosity, humor, connectedness, and care, and led by your goals and personal story.
Alongside more traditional therapies like EMDR and IFS, I believe in the power of creativity to allow us access to healing and transform our relationships with those in our lives and within ourselves. As an Art Therapist by training, I am able to offer us alternative ways to explore healing through a range of creative, expressive, and artistic practices. Creative expression is an ancient and deeply human form of healing and communication, and allows for new ways to find spaciousness for our underlying experiences and emotional needs, support self-discovery, and heal from our trauma. My approach also incorporates awareness and attunement to your body, and acknowledges the ways the world around you may be impacting your well-being or ability to feel like yourself.
I grew up in New England and lived in New York prior to moving to Los Angeles, where I worked supporting nonprofits and mission-driven organizations for over a decade. I am a third-generation therapist, have forever been an artist, and earned a dual Masters in Clinical Counseling & Art Therapy from Southwestern College & New Earth Institute. I enjoy working with people in all stages of healing, growth, and change, and find this work to be deeply meaningful and engaging.
As a gay man and queer-identified person, I’m passionate about supporting folx in the LGBTQIA+ community navigating self-acceptance, exploration of identity, intimacy, and relationships.
I’m working toward licensure under the supervision of Miranda Kent and Sarah Callender, LCSW. If you’d like to explore working together, I offer a free phone consultation—I look forward to connecting!
